Terms of Service

These terms apply to the Coldreader service at coldreader.io ("the Service"), operated by Filip Johansson, a sole trader registered in Sweden ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them.

1. The Service

Coldreader provides website analytics. You add a script to your website, and we show you aggregated statistics about visits to it. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or improve features over time; we will not remove core functionality without reasonable notice.

2. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address and keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Service.

3. Trial, subscription, and payment

New accounts receive a free trial of the length shown at signup. After the trial, continued data collection requires a paid subscription. Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"), which acts as merchant of record. Paddle's terms apply to the payment transaction, and Paddle issues invoices and handles VAT and sales tax. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; access continues until the end of the period already paid for. If a subscription lapses, data collection pauses but existing data is kept until you delete it or your account.

4. Acceptable use

You may only add the Coldreader script to websites you own or are authorised to operate. You may not use the Service to collect data in a way that violates applicable law, to attempt to identify individual visitors, or to interfere with the Service or other customers. We may suspend accounts that abuse the Service, generate abnormal load, or violate these terms, and will contact you before doing so where practical.

5. Your data and ours

Statistics collected for your websites belong to you. We do not sell or share them and we do not use them for anything other than providing the Service to you. You may delete a site or your entire account at any time, and the associated data is deleted immediately.

We process data on your behalf as described in the privacy policy, which also serves as the data processing agreement between us for the purposes of the GDPR. You are the controller for data about your website's visitors; we are the processor.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and content, is ours. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it during your subscription. The tracking script may be embedded on your websites for the purpose of using the Service.

7. Warranties and liability

The Service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or data. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including under Swedish consumer protection legislation where it applies.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time from the settings page. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms. We may discontinue the Service with at least 60 days' notice, in which case we will refund any prepaid period beyond the discontinuation date.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email or a notice in the dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Swedish courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
